About Us
The importance of the Indian livestock sector is increasing year after year in view of its role in providing food and nutrition security and livelihood for millions of people particularly small, marginal and land fewer people and weaker sections of the society.
A number of factors such as land utilization pattern, feed and fodder availability, changes in utility aspects, socio-economic changes, urbanization etc have implications on livestock population categories.

Land Utilization
Scientific administration of unproductive and low productive animals for their efficient utilization.
Cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats and poultry are the major livestock species. Cattle and buffaloes are mainly reared for milk and draught purposes and provide meat as a byproduct. Sheep, goat, and poultry are reared primarily for meat production.
